AWANA

SDBC Wednesday AWANA Clubs

AWANA (derived from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15) is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1950.   The mission of Awana is to help “churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ.”
SDBC hosts a thriving AWANA programs on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm.  The children pray, sing, learn about God, play games, and have a snack.  The Word of God is emphasized through lessons and Scripture memory work and incentives.  AWANA provides an excellent opportunity to create a consistency between home, church, and school for our children.
